A new quarterly dashboard to help strengthen strategic campaigns

Members of the Quad Cities Contributors Council see many strategic fundraising campaigns across the Quad Cities, each shaped by a different mission, community need, organizational capacity, and set of goals. Together, the data from these campaigns offer a valuable landscape view of charitable fundraising in our region.

Now, we are making that same information available to you.

Today, we are pleased to announce that the Council will share, on a quarterly basis, the aggregate data from the past three years of campaigns endorsed by the Council. Rather than focusing on any individual organization or campaign, it is intended to highlight broader patterns and trends across the Council’s endorsed campaigns to support the planning work of nonprofits moving forward.

It is the Council’s hope that publishing this dashboard will help nonprofits:

  • Better understand the regional fundraising campaign environment,

  • Compare planning assumptions with recent campaign activity in the community,

  • Identify trends that may inform campaign timing, scope, strategy, and expectations, and,

  • Support conversations among staff, donors, and fundraising partners.

What this new dashboard is not intended to do is prescribe a single approach or define what a successful campaign can or should look like. We know every nonprofit has its own circumstances, its own strengths, its own donor base, and its own needs. The data we share also won’t predict the outcome of a future campaign. It will, however, provide a useful point of reference to help nonprofits ask stronger questions, test assumptions, and make informed decisions.

Our hope? That sharing this information represents our commitment to supporting a healthy and effective nonprofit sector in the Quad Cities. We believe that when you have more context, you are best equipped to develop realistic plans and communicate clearly stakeholders. This will empower organizations to advance your missions with confidence.

The first dashboard is available now on our website here. Explore it and consider how it might support your work.
